Tignes isn’t all about the skiing they have some fantastic restaurants serving a variety of dishes; from traditional Savoyard classics through pizzas, there is something to suit most tastes.

A great traditionally styled restaurant with generous dishes in which country produce takes pride of place. The brainchild of the Bouvier family, there’s a great selection of wines at reasonable prices as well.

The staff are incredibly friendly and the whole atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The restaurant has even been mentioned in the Michelin guide so you know the food is going to be exceptional.

Everything has been thought through from the salt pots on the tables to the hanging meats over the kitchen. If you only ate out at one restaurant all week, we’d recommend you try this one.

La Toviere

This atmospheric chalet-style restaurant is situated at the top of the Tovière and serves traditional cuisine including fondues, raclettes and the famous tartiflette.

If you are looking for a quick bite to eat before heading back to the mountain La Tovière has a brilliant self-service section.

You can either enjoy your lunch outside whilst basking in the sun, or on those cold days you can sit inside and take advantage of the welcoming fireplace.

Situated at the top of the Chaudannes chair, the terrace here is shared with the adjacent self-service Alpage and offers a superb view of the Grande Motte glacier.

The restaurant offers not only magnificent views but the choice between the gourmet restaurant and the self-service bar.

There is something for everyone, from those eager to enjoy a long Savoyard lunch in the sun or simply have a drink and take in the scenery.

Situated in Tignes Le Lac, on the left as you descend from L’Aiguille Percée, this is a hotel bar-restaurant with a beautiful south facing terrace at the foot of the slopes.

The restaurant has a warm and cosy ambience, where you can find an abundance of tasty Savoyard specialities, such as fondues, tartiflettes and raclettes.

Also offering a snack menu and pizzas, this restaurant does prove popular due to its ski to the door location and large sun terrace, so it is worth getting there early.

In Tignes Brevieres with a huge sunny terrace at the foot of the slopes close to the Sache cable car. It’s a rustic feel with a stone cellar housing a varied list of wines.

A traditional menu with plenty of cured and pickled meats as well as Savoyarde classics which get rave reviews, as do the pizzas. The menu, as with the wine, is reasonably priced. A great place to come for dinner and close enough to the slopes for a delicious lunch stop.

L'Escale Blanche

Located in the central square of Tignes le Lac, next to the Aeroski gondola lift, this restaurant also has excellent views of the Grande Motte glacier.

This is a great little restaurant to go to if you have young children or you are looking for a no-frills meal out. There is a vast selection of tasty pizzas as well as traditional alpine dishes.

This restaurant combines gourmet cuisine with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

After eating, make your way downstairs to the bar and enjoy an after-dinner drink on one of the comfy sofas.

The restaurant also plays host to live music so you can make an evening of it!
