Tignes, like all other ski resorts, is mainly about skiing, but it does have plenty of alternatives for those non-skiers or those looking for something extra.

Ice Diving

Not a single noise or movement; watch your own air bubbles play under the ice and light reflect through the frozen surface. Rediscover the wild and feel at one with nature.

Whether a beginner or advanced ice diver, plunge straight into the icy waters of the frozen lake and take advantage of professional advice and equipment to try ice diving in a safe and secure environment.

A daytime session starts at €95 and night-time sessions start at €130.

Ice Skating

Tignes is home to a 600m outdoor skating rink located on the frozen lake in the heart of the resort.

Admission to Tignes skating rink is free, so it is well worth a visit! And they hold a ‘Disco on Ice’ session most evenings.

Adults skate hire is €3 and €2 for children under 13.

Ice Driving

In Tignes, you can demonstrate how daring you are beyond the ski runs. Forget about city driving and discover ice driving at an altitude of 1500m.

Whilst racing around the purpose built ice track you will discover all the techniques: emergency braking, turning, counter-steering and skidding.

Whilst you are free to negotiate your own way around the track, you will be briefed by certified instructors. Located on the ice track in Tignes Les Brévières.

Prices start from €65 for cars of €40 for a quad buggy.

Paragliding

Live the dream whilst experiencing a feeling of complete freedom.

Soar across the snow-capped mountains and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere that paragliding brings; the skies of Tignes are yours to explore!

You will enjoy this unique experience under the watchful eye of a certified instructor. Tandem flights start from €85.

Snow Mobiling

This is one of the most popular activities for thrill-seekers who are keen to try something other than skiing.

The bikes can take 1 or 2 people at a time and there is also the option of swapping over halfway through the session.

Day time sessions as a driver cost from €59 for 30 minutes. Or you can go snowmobiling and then have dinner in a yurt with prices starting at €84.

Ice Climbing

Climbing up a wall of ice, you are sure to enjoy the thrill of this unique frozen waterfall experience.

Wearing a helmet, harness and crampons with an ice axe in hand, you will be all set to conquer the icefall.

Located in Tignes Les Brévières. Group sessions start from €89 per person.

Dog Sledding

Ever popular, who doesn’t want to meet some fluffy friend and travel through the snow in a rare silence during the breathtaking ride across the frozen lake.

The Husky, Samoyed and Malamute breeds exhibit amazing physical abilities. In particular, they love to run in the cold. Trust their instinct – they’ll guide you through the pristine, quiet wilderness.

Bun J Ride

This one is for the adrenaline junkies out there. A hybrid between ski jumping, bungee jumping and a zip wire.

You’re strapped into a harness at the waist, attached to two elasticated chords. You fly down a 30m ski jump that drops you into a 40m void.

Next to the Lac blue run, there is a minimum age of 13 years and a minimum weight of 40kg. Open every day except Saturdays. 1 jump is €75.
