Swimming

Chamonix boasts a state of the art swimming centre with three pools (adult, kids pool, and splash pool for very young children), as well as sauna facilities.
What is involved?
A 25m swimming pool, amusement pool with waterfall, river rapids, water jets and massage, 130m covered toboggan, solarium, solarium, jacuzzi, hammam, sauna.

Aiguille du Midi

You walk out your hotel and catch the famous lift up and have a coffee in the Mont Blanc sunshine at 3000ft.
If you’re brave enough, grab a picture standing in the glass box over the sheer drop.
If it’s a clear day you will also catch wingsuit flyers jumping down the sheer cliff, which makes for an exciting and terrifying viewing.
Ice caves

The tour of the “Grotte de glace” (Ice Cave) takes visitors into the very heart of the glacier.
Re-sculpted every year, it describes the life of mountain people in the early 19th century.
It can be entered either by a walk of around 20 minutes on a footpath, or by gondola lift.
NB: There are more than 400 steps from the arrival of the gondola lift to the entrance to the cave.
Be prepared to climb a lot of stairs.
From 17/12/2016 to 17/03/2017, daily between 10 AM and 4.30 PM.
Paragliding

What is it?
Well, you literally jump off a mountain and serenely float down whilst enjoying spectacular views of Chamonix and the surrounding resorts.
Arguably best during the spring when there are more air thermals.
Expect to pay between €70 and €120.
