Brave the Hahnenkamm, Kitzbuhel
This run is part of the World Cup ski races and is notorious for being the hardest course on the tour.
World-class skiers such as Hermann Maier (the Herminator), Bode Miller, Stefan Eberharter and Frans Klammer are one of the many brave to win and take on the course.
Part of the course is called The latter, translating as “mousetrap”, is a jump with a pitch of over 40 degrees, so racers hitting it at nearly 100km/h fly almost 80m.
Obviously, you won’t be hitting these speeds (I hope not anyway)…However, skiing on the Hahnenkamm will give you a marginal taste to what the world-class skiers will experience.

Backcountry Blower Pow, Whistler
Well, you only, get this experience in Canada and North America, when it gets so cold, it that reaches into your lungs and tickles your bronchioles.
The powder gets so light and dry it seems almost like smoke. This is blower pow.
Whistler is well known for blower pow along with other resorts such as Aspen and Vail in the USA.
Skiing in these resorts, if the snow is at its best, you will also get the chance to snorkel pow.
What on earth is snorkel pow?
This is when it gets REALLY deep and it’ll blow up in your face, filling your nose and mouth, so you can barely breathe… at this point you might consider a snorkel.
Dancing Queen At The World Famous Mooserwirt, St Anton
So you may have heard or even experienced the Moose, the place that defined Austrian après in all its naffness and riotous excess.
Owned by a local boy back in the 80’s, Eugen Scalet, who decided to “kill the cows and milk the tourists”. It now sells the second largest annual amount of beer in the whole of Austria.
You can party outside on the multi-tiered deck, where waiters deploy the aircraft carrier-sized trays of beer to you and all your new high-fiving buddies.
If it is cold, head inside to dance and sing along to Europop and German “schlager” anthems mixed by the resident DJ.
With its incredible apres, vast ski area and local culture, St Anton is growing to become one of the top resorts in the Alpes

Ski western Europe’s highest mountain, Chamonix
For all you advanced ski and snowboard fanatics, shredding down the Mont Blanc massif should be on your bucket.
You take the Aiguille du Midi cable car, slowly walk on a narrow, vertigo‑inducing ridge (don’t worry there is a rope bannister) and there will behold the beautiful open slope.
The Vallée Blanche is open to most levels of rider, with a guide (and snowboarders need touring poles for the flats, just an FYI).
It will seem busy at first with all the other keen riders around you, but you will soon disperse the crowds onto the large open face while admiring the surrounding peaks.
It’s a 17km run with a 2,000m drop, or 22km and 2,800m if the snow’s good enough to reach the valley floor.
I would advise doing this first thing to get the best conditions and smallest crowds.

Snowcat Skiing in Keystone (On A Budget)
Snowcat skiing is often seen as the “Chateauneuf du Pape” of snow riding. extravagant, exquisite, exciting.
You could say it is the cheaper alternative to heli-skiing and provides a comparable quality of skiing by using a snowcat to transport you to deep powder areas.
It can cost up to $400 for your own private Snowcat tours (still cheaper than heli skiing).
However, Keystone now offers a mile long Snowcat shuttle to the alpine bowls of the OutBack for $5 (plus the cost of a lift ticket).
It offers a daylong cat tour of 1,160 acres of its hike-to terrain for $81 (plus lift ticket).
The benefit of Snowcat skiing is that you get to head out to the backcountry with your friends and other like-minded skiers who simply want to enjoy some fresh powder and discover new tracks.
600km in just one day, Courchevel
Do you seek an endurance challenge in France, where you ski into 4 different resorts and cover 600km?
Although it is called the 3 Vallées, this challenge included the 4th hidden valley known as Les Menuires.
Stay in one of our lovely Courchevel chalets and ski from Courchevel through to Méribel, up to Val Thorens and down to Les Menuires before making a quick turn around to get all the way back to your cosy catered chalet.
This is a thigh-straining, a lung-busting challenge is to ride all four valleys in one day, just make sure you don’t miss that last lift home!
