1. They Never Build Anything New
Utter rubbish – St Anton became one the largest linked ski areas in the Alps when they built the Flexenbahn Cableway in 2017, linking 305 km of piste. The lift system is state-of-the-art with constant investment so as St Anton can fully live up to its reputation.
2. The Views Are Terrible
Terribly amazing is the only terrible thing about the views of St Anton. From the top of Valluga, you can see for miles in every direction.
3. The Night Views Are Just As Bad!
4. The Ski Area Is Only 305 km Of Downhill Slopes
That’s without counting the 200km of off-piste terrain.
5. Chalets Are Too Close To The Slopes
For some, it might be too much to have ski slopes on your doorstep. But we’re guessing you’re not one of them.
6. They Don’t Celebrate Christmas
Their traditions may be a little different but Christmas is definitely heavily celebrated. Krampus marks the Christmas period with St Nicolas’s half-goat, half-devil followers cleanse the souls of misbehaving children whilst St Nicolas himself rewards the well behaved.

Apres in St Anton is certainly a lively affair but the sheer choice of action means you’ll never be bored with the action. Base Camp is a personal favourite often with live sax in a huge umbrella bar at the base of the Galzig.
9. Nothing Happens At The End Of Season
The White Trill marks the end of the ski season here. A cult race that has to be seen to be believed as 555 skiers, boarders and telemark skiers have a mass start to this gruelling event.
